MA of Faroese Language and Literature (2014) specialised in Faroese Ballads. Employed as Asssistant professor of oral tradition at Department of Faroese language and literature 2015-2022, Ph.D student of folkloristics at University of Iceland(UI)/University of the Faroe Islands(UF) from 2018-present. Topic of Ph.d project: Transmission of the Faroese Chain Dance tradition. Supervisors are Dr. Valdimar Hafstein (UI) and Turið Sigurðardóttir(UF). Has been involved in research of the Faroese Sigurd ballads (Young CAS project, “Ballads across borders”, led by Helen Leslie Jacobsen, University of Bergen) 2020-2022 and in the U-ARCTIC network on Circumpolar archives, folklore and ethnography (CAFE) since 2017.  

Research interests

Faroese ballads. Transmission of tradition in contemporary society. Intangible cultural heritage. Politics of culture.

Teaching

Literary analyses and early history of Faroese literature in the compulsory part on BA-level at the Institute of Faroese(2012-2019). Separate courses on children’s literature and cultural heritage in the optional part of the education on MA- and BA-level in Faroese (2015-2020)
