Personal profile

Sigurd is an atmospheric chemist with a special interest in aerosols, ocean-atmosphere interactions and cloud formation. Started as an Assistant Professor in Chemistry (tenure-track) at the University in February 2022

Research interests

  • Atmospheric chemistry and physics
  • Analytical chemistry
  • Aerosols (i.e. sea spray, marine, Arctic)
  • Cloud formation, cloud condensation nuclei, ice-nucleating particles
  • Ocean-atmosphere interactions 
  • Atmospheric monitoring of aerosols, clouds and trace-gasses


In teach mainly general, inorganic and organic chemistry at BSc-level.
