Personal profile

Jákup is a computer scientist with special interest in geometric deep learning covering optimization, representation and statistical aspects and their interplay.
I am also interested in developing applications to computational science, in areas such as Quantum chemistry and climate modelling. Started as an Assistant Professor in ICT (tenure-track) at the University in August 2022

2022 -

  • Revised and taught of the course in B.Sc. in ICT Engineering: Software Engineering (7.5 ECTS)
  • Teaching assistant for the course in B.Sc. in ICT Engineering: Application Development for the Android Platform (7.5 ECTS)
  • Designed and delivered all of the teaching of the course in B.Sc. in ICT Engineering: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (7.5 ECTS), where I also am course responsible.
  • Involved in the planning and design of the MSc-programme: "MSc in Data Science"
  • Supervised 1 Bsc project
